"JAKOB PREI" SWATH@A&R Hydrographic Survey Vessel: getting to the bottom of the matter
"Moving around and sounding as deep as possible, while minimising risks and motion” sums up the demands placed on the JAKOB PREI. Launched in 2012, the research vessel sets out from its home port of Tallinn, Estonia, to carry out a wide range of hydrographic functions, including the scientific exploration of the sea bed. The boat can comfortably take up to eight researchers including crew. It is also equipped with a modular container system for research equipment – a blessing in logistical terms. This allows devices and technical equipment to be exchanged using a container system.
